František Pavlíček: Indian Summer on the Blue Water
The radio play Indian Summer on Blue Water is a sensitively portrayed story of an emotional relationship between two ageing people. A relationship that was sparked during a spa stay, but which gradually grows into a strong bond, a new impulse for their lives. In 1979, when František Pavlíček, a well-known author of radio and theatre plays, wrote the text of his intimate radio play called Babí léto na modré vodě (Indian Summer on Blue Water), he was for many years in the disfavour of the normalisation politicians. This was not only because he had signed Charter 77 two years earlier. He became a banned author for his political involvement and therefore the texts he wrote at that time could not be published under his name.
