František Kožík: Black Sun

František Kožík's novel Black Sun tells the story of the troubled journey through the life of Donatien Alphonse François, Marquis de Sade. The Marquis de Sade was a descendant of an ancient Provençal family related to the French royal family, but also its black sheep who had to be "kept out". His life was also desperately lonely. He cruelly paid for his Libertines' excesses and affairs with prostitutes with years of imprisonment. Dreaming and writing was, in the end, his only real freedom.
