Francois-René de Chateaubriand: memoirs from beyond the grave

Autobiographical Memoirs from the Afterlife (1848-1850) is Chateaubriand's last work. He started writing them in. 1803, the extensive work covers the bulk of his life. During the writing process, the text turned more and more into a kind of essay about the author himself. The author follows the traces of his own lived time, he tries to capture everything, but he does not hide the fact that with the passing of time he gradually loses everything.
