Five penitents

Unofficial agent Winter intends to deal with a well-organized evil that thrives not only in the underworld of shady businesses, drug dealers and pimps, but also dangerously close to our everyday lives. While searching for a missing student, Pavla, barely 15 years old, he finds himself in a spiral of violence, in an environment where the laws are much harsher than the good old "a tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye". Will he be able to find Pavla alive? Can he survive alone against brutal odds? And where is the line between justice and personal revenge? But no matter what precipice Wintr lapses over, his sharp tongue never leaves him - a gift and a curse that brings him both advantage and complication at the least opportune moments. 5 Repentant is an unorthodox detective story, dark, provocative, full of intellectual puns and chilling humour, teetering on the edge of absurdity. From the first page, it keeps the reader in suspense while making them wonder if the darkness can be defeated without getting dirty oneself.
