Fateful

Linda, Daniel and Pipka from the book Seven and a Half Years are back. Except this time, each of them tells their own story. And the truth is no longer just one thing.
Pipka is thirty-seven and feels like she's missing out. She wants love. A family. Security. Someone with whom it will finally work out. When she meets Daniel, everything falls into place. It's exactly the feeling she's been waiting for. He's the one. Her soulmate. And she's willing to adapt absolutely everything to it.

Daniel's main priority is not to be alone. He's not looking for big emotions; he's looking for peace. While Pipka believes she has found security, he's just choosing where he'll stay for now. How many truths can he tell without having to say the one that matters?

Linda already knows how these stories end and doesn't believe in soulmates. And just when it seems the reader knows all the answers from the novel Seven and a Half Years, someone new appears. And with them, a question that turns the whole story inside out: What if everything happened completely differently? Because what if a soulmate isn't love, but just a story we desperately need to believe in?
The One is a novel about an illusion that looks like happiness. About all the things we're capable of overlooking just so we don't lose the idea that this time, it's finally the real thing. And about how easily your whole life can change the moment you discover you never knew the whole picture.
