Farmhouse

An extraordinary story about the unbreakable love for the homeland and the heroic fight against human envy and the blind desire for other people's property.

This unique testimony about the Zík family's farm is set against the background of the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the birth of the Czechoslovak Republic, the First and Second World War and, last but not least, the totalitarian communist regime after 1948 up to the present day.

Despite all the adversity, the descendants of František Zíka managed to successfully manage their farm again, mainly thanks to their indomitable faith, undying conviction of their truth and at the same time incredibly hard work, although often at the highest price; at the cost of blood and lives.

The farmhouse is a symbol of human determination to fight in difficult times for one's destiny, the right to freedom and to defend one's property, often literally with one's own hands.
