Mystery detective Empty Streets
The novel is set in 1999 in Prague. The narrator discovers an object in a dump on the outskirts of the city whose purpose he does not know - is it an instrument, an emblem, a statue or perhaps a letter of an unknown alphabet? It turns out that the object is somehow connected to the mysterious disappearance of a young girl. The narrator searches for her while trying to discover the meaning of an unknown object that could lead to the mystery of her disappearance.
On his way, he passes through various spaces, cafes, doorways of businesses, railway stations and luxurious villas of the rich. He stumbles upon a series of clues, listening to narratives that relate to the object and the girl. These stories take the reader to different places - to New York, to an unnamed French town, to the mountain resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps, to the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, to South America, to Afghanistan. But the clues still can't come together into a meaningful whole...
