Eliška Rebelka

“She's always been stubborn, we know that,” Dad tried to calm Mum down. “Yes, but it's different now. Ever since she's been friends with those twins, she's been acting like... like... like some kind of rebel!” Hi! My name is Eliška and I'm in year two. Yesterday at school, we were given the task of writing an essay on the topic of ‘My Pet’. I was the only one who didn't write a single thing. Everyone in the class has at least a hamster, a fish, or something like that. It's easy to write an essay then! But Mum won't hear of any animal. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I manage to convince her somehow. I really, really want a cat. Or even better, a dog! A stand-alone sequel to the audiobook Eliška Andílek. For children from 6 years. “The story was very adventurous this time; we get to Kokořín Castle, which is haunted, we witness a flood that affects Žitín, and through it, the children in the story see how important it is to help each other in bad times. Young readers will definitely not be bored, nor will their parents or grandparents. The chapters are short, making it ideal for beginner listeners!” – from a reader's review on databazeknih.cz “Mum, I got a kitten from the Grubers! It's beautiful, black and white, it was born yesterday and it's living in the attic for now.” Eliška fell silent. When she saw her mother frowning, she knew straight away she could forget about the kitten. “You can't be serious,” Mum said sternly. “As if it wasn't enough that you're late again! The last thing I need right now is a kitten running around the house.” “But it could be.” “Forget it, Eliška,” Mum raised her voice, “having an animal isn't that simple.” – an excerpt from the book
