Edith Piaf

The story of a phenomenal singer... From the bottom of the street to the top of the world stage

It would be an incredible novel - if it wasn't her real life. A fate that became a legend. Magical, triumphant and tragic...

A colourful period mosaic, that Edith's famous contemporaries have come to assemble, Patrons, colleagues, friends, husband and wife, lovers and rivals. Marcel Cerdan, Théo Sarapo, Marlene Dietrich, Charles Aznavour, Jean Cocteau, Yves Montand, Georges Moustaki... and many others share their intimate memories. The famous speak of the even more famous. Édith Giovanna Gassion literally took off from the cobblestones of the Pigalle in Paris to the orbit of world stardom. Edith Piaf was born. And she conquered the world.

Her entire destiny was marked by bizarre events and tragedies, as well as a wild consuming passion. A petite woman, only 147 cm tall, outside the door of her home, ravaged by disease and addiction, she shone like a flare on stage. Edith's biography is one of those that reads as breathlessly as a novel, and her passionate, languid singing seems to reach us from its pages. Without love we are nothing... And let us have no regrets.
