Death at the White Hart
When a murder shakes a sleepy British village, no one is above suspicion
After years of detective work in the big city, Nicola Bridge moves to the countryside, certainly not expecting the picturesque, sleepy village of Fleetcombe to become a horrific crime scene shortly after her arrival. The owner of the local pub, Jim Tiernan, has been found dead—his naked body, with stag antlers attached, staged in the middle of the road. The villagers are understandably shaken by the gruesome discovery, especially when they realise that the murderer is most likely living among them.
Nicola, along with her new colleague Harry, begins the investigation. The image of the idyllic countryside shatters before her eyes. There are more suspects than it seems, and it's becoming clear that every resident of Fleetcombe has a secret they are trying to hide from their neighbours. Some of them are seemingly innocent, but others could serve as a motive for murder… Sunday Times Bestseller

Absolutely brilliant! Death at the White Hart is one of those rare detective stories that offers both a thrilling plot and a richly nuanced psychological insight into the minds of the multifaceted characters who inhabit its pages. And the cherry on top? The author's confident and engaging style, which is by turns suspenseful, ironic, and—dare I say it—brilliant.
