In the seventh episode of the series, Inspector Katie Maguir and her team are all over their heads. In Cork, Ireland, there is a dog-robbing gang, a drug store is flourishing in the city, and police officers have to find a missing girl - all under the strict supervision of the media.
Katie slowly comes to the truth and begins to realize that it could all be related. But time is running out and the gang is kidnapping and mutilating other people…
Real crimes and court writings usually provide fearsome descriptions of events - and Masterton's books are equally realistic in depicting human cruelty.
For the world of the dead, the book is full of light and shadow, but the horror is balanced by empathy and tenderness.
The plot is original and the last page is completely unpredictable. The story is moving forward at the speed of a hurricane… Another thriller from a masterful narrator with lots of unexpected twists in an impressively described environment.
