Country on the Border

This book presents a selection of prose from fourteen contemporary Estonian authors, who have been unjustly overlooked in the Czech Republic until now. It offers the Czech reader a unique opportunity to peek into the current happenings on the Estonian literary scene. Within the book, the reader will find fragments from novels and novellas that echo the experience of occupation and a bilingual environment, as well as a diverse range of short stories, experimental texts, and psychologically tuned prose in which unconventional humour is mixed with reflections on history. The anthology was compiled and prepared for publication by Anna Sedláčková.
