Counting grandfathers
A little girl named Alenka is sometimes angry, grumpy or sullen. Luckily, she has a cheerful grandad who invents funny fairy tales for his granddaughter and teaches her to look on the bright side of life. Together they draw, rhyme, speak in a secret language and ask readers important questions: Can a princess turn into a meatball? Do dumplings go to school? What if lemonade flowed from children's eyes instead of tears? And what happens if you miscount when you're counting grandads?
This cheerful story for children from 5 to 105 is illustrated by Jaromír Plachý.
The author duo Nejedlý–Plachý, known for the bestsellers Malý humorista (The Little Humorist) and Hororová čítanka (The Horror Reader), are back together again! This time with the humorous fairy-tale book Počítání dědečků (Counting Grandads), which they call a “hammer for a bad mood”.
