Coquetry

September 1936. Ferda Gust would rather celebrate his seventeenth birthday with the freckled Lucie, with whom he is head over heels in love, than with his family. The way only a virgin's heart can be. To make matters worse, his older sister gives him something as incredibly embarrassing as a diary. And then she hands him a pencil… “Not even if you were the last man on Earth, Gust,” he writes down the freckled girl's reply. The diary of a trainee editor at Peroutka's Přítomnost becomes a mosaic of intimate moments from pre-war Prague and a chronicle of the great history of Czechoslovakia after it decides to stand up to Hitler by force in 1938.
