Conspirators hoops and hammers
During the reign of King Wenceslas IV. a chapel of the Corpus Christi was built in the middle of the Cattle Market in New Town in Prague from the funds of rich townspeople associated in the Brotherhood of the Hoop and Hammer. Later it became the property of the University of Prague, and when Jan Hus was burnt to death in 1415, it was here that the Brotherhood was re-established to follow Hus' ideas and strive to reform the Church and reform society. In this secret society, Huss' friends and supporters from among the nobility and university masters came together. They protested at the Council of Constance, opposed the Church, King Wenceslas IV. and his younger brother, King Sigismund of Rome. They have demolished the whole country, but they themselves did not foresee that this would release an avalanche that could sweep them away.
