Consonance

It's a Friday night in the autumn of 2000, and Percy Marks is at the campus bar, preaching about music again. Hall & Oates are playing on the jukebox. Percy – who wasn't born with musical talent, but has plenty of opinions – can't overcome her most annoying habit, which she's well aware of, and launches into a deep analysis of the song. But tonight, something's different. At the other end of the bar is Joe Morrow, a student who writes music in his free time, and it seems he could listen to Percy all night long.
One day, Joe asks Percy for feedback on a demo of his tracks, and so begins a complicated, long-term partnership in which they both experience previously unexplored feelings and repeatedly clash with their own egos. Is their collaboration worth all the effort and pain? Or is it just making it harder for Percy to discover her own voice?
Audience of One is a love letter to music – a burned CD labelled with a marker pen, full of the most important songs and memories.
