Conqueror
A historical novel about one of the most famous Spanish conquistadors, Hernán Cortés. In 1519, Cortés sails from Cuba to Mexico, where he first subjugates the territory controlled by native tribes. He continues his campaign towards the wealthy Aztec Empire, manages to capture the Aztec ruler and becomes the ruler of Mexico. Later, he falls victim to intrigue and is stripped of his office and property. The end of his life is a mere shadow of his former glory. The author draws inspiration from 'History of the Conquest of Mexico' by the American historian William Prescott.
