Citroën 2CV
In the 1930s, Citroën realised that there was a lack of a car for the countryman in the market. The brief to the designers was simple - four wheels protected by an umbrella. Since no similar car had ever existed before, they had to invent everything from scratch. However, the serial production of the small car TPV was not allowed by the war. However, the carmaker took the time to completely rebuild it. In Paris in 1948, the Citroën 2CV was first on display, full of literally revolutionary technology. People couldn't find a name for him at first because of his ugliness, but then they fell in love with him. When it was discontinued after five decades, the number of units produced stopped at almost 8.8 million. The unique, indestructible design became the basis for the derivative types of classic Citroën two-cylinder engines. The book takes the reader through all versions of the Duck in detail, van Fourgonnette, the Ami family, a more mature Dyane, to the beach Méhari, limited models, bodywork conversions, military and off-road specials.
