Childbirth in motion
This publication presents a new way of showing how the female pelvis can move and transform during childbirth to facilitate the passage of the foetus. It offers practical advice on how to support this natural dynamic through various movements and positions.
The authors show that knowledge of anatomy and recognition of one's own perceptions enables a woman to better use her own resources to optimise the entire birth process. The dynamic concept of the pelvis they present is the result of combining their knowledge with the experience of hundreds of midwives with whom they have worked for fifteen years.
The book thus becomes both a reference guide for healthcare professionals to understand precisely the changes in the pelvis, the positions women adopt, and their effect on the passage of the foetus, and a source of knowledge for women preparing for childbirth and a helper for their support person.
The work presented in this publication contributed to the creation of new care protocols for low-risk mothers, which have been introduced in Spain by the Ministry of Health since 2007.
