Charles IV.

After a meeting with Duke Albrecht Habsburg in Budějovice in the autumn of 1350, Charles IV takes part in a hunt near Zvíkov. However, the king is missing from the hunters who gather at the meeting point after the hunt has ended. The search party finds him unconscious, with a broken jaw and an injured cervical spine. Was this injury an accident, or was it someone's intention? When the body of a peasant, bearing the Habsburg seal, is found nearby, the scales slowly tip towards an attempted regicide. The commander of the king's protective guard, Karel Rozoumek, therefore calls on his friends for help and also begins his own investigation. Meanwhile, behind the closed gates of Zvíkov Castle, the mortally wounded Bohemian and Roman King lies. Will Rozoumek manage to uncover who tried to kill the king? Will the king's physician be able to heal Charles IV?
