What do you encounter when you decide to travel across Africa in a half-unnavigable pink bus?
We are Marika and David and we went to Africa to film a series. The idea to go on an adventure trip came spontaneously one evening over a beer. Since the initial excitement, it has been many months of arranging, phoning, packing and testing how much our nerves can take. In the end, they made it and we stood on the African continent for the first time.
The book describes our story as well as everyday feelings and experiences that the camera's eye did not catch. About the realisation of a crazy plan, about travelling in an old bus, about the love of discovery. About what it is like to be thrown into the lazy flowing river of African time by a hurried European. About the beauty and difficulties at every step, about the madness of living together on a few square meters, about how we are afraid and nothing is possible, but most importantly, it's fun. About crossing the borders of home, continent and self. The destination is unknown, we're going THERE.
