Investigating historical disputes in the name of justice
Oldřich of Chlum, with his assistants Squire Ota and Commander Diviš, depart for Náchod on the orders of the Czech King Přemysl. There is a lot, what is happening in this region, and there is no one, who could resolve the disputes between the knights and the Benedictines, Czechs and Poles, but also by rejected and hostile suitors. To make matters worse, Squire Ota has to take on the rights of the young widow and Diviš ends up in the clutches for a change.
Justice literally finds itself over the precipice, as the investigators' steps also lead to the rocks in Adršpach.
