Bohumil Hrabal: Krasosmutnění

The book of short stories Krasosmutnění is the middle part of Hrabal's memoir trilogy Městečko u vody, which was published from 1976 to 1981. The first part is Postřižiny, the third is Harlequin's Millions. The autobiographical stories tell about the time when the author lived with his parents in the Nymburk brewery where his father worked as a manager. There is also the too noisy Uncle Pepin and other small-town characters of the 1920s and 1930s. It reads: Radim Vašinka.
