Blunt injuries
The book is intended for medics, forensic surgeons and physicians of all surgical specialties who come into contact with blunt trauma on a daily basis. It will also be appreciated by rescue workers and other members of the integrated rescue system. Blunt injuries are caused by the action of a blunt object of varying intensity, either directly, i.e. at the point of contact of the object, or indirectly by transferring the energy to a more distant location (e.g. bone fractures). They can be divided according to various criteria, for example, according to severity, according to the presence of a violation of the skin covering, according to depth with the possibility of injury to internal organs, etc. The extent and type of injury depends on the characteristics of the injuring object and the properties of the affected tissue. The book was written by 20 leading experts from seven centres in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The publication is supplemented by nearly 50 illustrative and didactic illustrations.
