Blood is my bread
Isaiah Coleridge, son of a Maori beauty and an American officer, is kicked out of the Chicago mob after twenty years. To atone for his sins, he takes up the search for the missing girl. There will be jokes and bloodshed.
Laird Barron is considered the grey eminence of American horror. In the Coleridge series, he has entered a different genre and created a whole new literary world, set in the heated present. It features mobsters, gangs, racism, the war in Iraq and the dirty practices of the FBI. The action-packed plot is spiced up with sarcastic comments from the main character, who has to constantly poke into wasps' nests.
