Black-Silk Bride

Lovett is a Silkwitch gifted with magic she can only use once married to a Weaver. But she doesn't have the status for that, so she steals to escape the convent. However, her gift for opening any door leads her to dangerous prey – Eliot, the son of an influential Weaver. He offers her a place in the prestigious Hrdosil competition, where the winner marries the heir of the most powerful family. But last year's winner, Eliot's sister, is dead. And Lovett must uncover the truth. The deeper she investigates, the more she discovers that trusting the Weavers doesn't always pay off.
