Everyone would like a dog like Bella!
In a secluded village high in the Pyrenees, a boy called Sebastián grows up. His mother died after childbirth and the orphan was taken in by old César, who raises him together with his grandchildren Jean and Angelina. The old man tries to teach Sebastian as much as he can about life in the mountains. They go hunting together and Sebastian is still waiting for his big adventure.
One day he comes across a stray large sheepdog, chased by humans. He knows they both belong together, Sebastian gains the dog's trust, and they become inseparable friends. However, the villagers go to the mountains to catch the animal and take it back to the kennel. The boy decides to rescue Bella, as he named the dog, and takes her to the remote Great Gorge. His plans are foiled by an avalanche. Bella, who warms the boy with her body, saves him. This touching and beautiful story is also known from the French television adaptation of 1965.
