Beautiful times in Paris

At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, Paris was the destination of visits and stays not only of Czech artists, especially painters, writers and poets, but also sportsmen and scientists. Yes, Paris was then not only a centre of art, but also of industry and technology. That is why our artists met here, for example, with the pioneers of flying. Some succeeded, many returned home disappointed. But all of them wanted to take in something of the wondrous atmosphere of the "belle époque" for their certainly different goals and dreams, that didn't just mark art, but it was also characterized by a strenuous effort to dominate the air realm, was a time of fascinating world exhibitions, use of electricity, a time of unprecedented technological development.
