Bakery in Brooklyn

Adventure, sweet cakes, and maybe something more.

A romantic and witty story about a trip to Brooklyn, delicious cakes, love, and friendship. Take a trip to the city that never sleeps and let yourself be enchanted!
Sophie hopes her boyfriend James will propose to her soon. But everything turns out differently, and Sophie decides to accept an internship at an American magazine. Her departure to New York is more of an escape than a life-changing opportunity. She throws herself into her work, thinking of nothing else. And certainly not about love.
She finds accommodation above a tiny bakery owned by the lovely Bella, who bakes the most amazing cakes in all of Brooklyn. They become friends, and Sophie starts spending her free time in the bakery, helping her bake sweets and wedding cakes. But Bella has a cousin, Todd, who is doted on, charming, and utterly irresistible. He has only one flaw – he refuses any kind of serious relationship. But Sophie isn't looking for one either, so it seems nothing stands in the way of their friendship…
Another romantic story from Julie Caplin, author of the popular The Little Cafe in Copenhagen, this time takes you on a trip to the bustling city of New York and will convince you that an escape can turn into an adventure and that sometimes we only find love when we stop looking for it.

Julie Caplin

Julie Caplin is the pseudonym for the British author of the bestselling Romantic Escapes series. She is addicted to travel and good food. She is constantly trying to track down the perfect gin and is unhealthily fussy about glasses, tonic, and garnishes. In between gin tastings, she wrote her first novel, The Little Cafe in Copenhagen, which launched her international success. As a PR director, she spent several years wandering around Europe, taking top food and drink journalists on press trips (so-called business trips) to experience the gastronomic delights of various cities around the world. These very places became the inspiration for her subsequent books, which were published in this order: The Little Cafe in Copenhagen, The Little Brooklyn Bakery, The Little Paris Patisserie, The Little Croatian Beach, The Little Iceland Hotel, The Little Teashop in Tokyo, The Little Swiss Ski Chalet, The Little Irish Cottage, The Little Scottish Castle and The Little French Vineyard (the novels are also available as audiobooks). The latest is the new release, The Villa in Italy. She has visited the Czech Republic several times and on that occasion was charmed by Prague, which is why her upcoming book will be set right here.
