I liked The Martian, so I picked up Artemis as soon as it came out in Czech. And I definitely did the right thing. Great scifi, humor, nothing challenging to read and yet suspenseful and well written.

Andy Weir
The American writer studied computer science at UC San Diego, although he did not finish school. He began working as a programmer for Sandia National Laboratories at the age of 15, and then worked as a programmer for several software companies, including AOL and Blizzard, where he contributed to the game Warcraft 2. Weir began writing science fiction at the age of 20 and published his work on his own website for years. The first of his works to gain some attention was a short story called Egg, which was then made into several YouTube videos. However, it was not until his third novel, The Martian (Book Club, 2015), that he gained international fame. He originally published the text as a free web series, where some readers requested that it also be available on Amazon. It first sold for 99 cents and was later added to the Kindle bestseller list.
