Annals of the Royal Chamber VI.

Two stories of the scribe of the royal chamber, Jiří Adam of Dobronín, take place in the middle of the 16th century. In the story The Poisoned Cup, the royal scribe is invited by his old friend, the governor of Cracow, to a wedding at the castle of Krakovec. But before the wedding festivities begin, someone poisons the groom. And soon another murder occurs. The motive is seemingly clear, as is the killer. Still, something doesn't add up for Jiří Adam, so he sets out on a painstaking search. The second story, The Death of the Martyr, takes place in the setting of a theatre company, which is invited by the High Master to Posázaví to his castle of Šternberk to perform a play about the martyrdom of Saint Dorothy. But the actress who plays the martyr dies for real. However, the Hofmeister believes that his daughter should have died. He therefore asks Jiří Adam of Dobronín to investigate the case discreetly, as the Czech Queen is due to arrive in Šternberk.
