Alphonse Daudet: Tartarin in the Alps

Alphonse Daudet, a classic of French prose, is best known for his first novel Leaves from My Mill and The Strange Adventures of Tartarin of Tarascon. Few people know, however, that the Tartarin adventures form a loose trilogy. Its second part is a story called Tartarin in the Alps, which we offer you in the form of an eight-part sequel. Daudet's fresh style became one of the models of French modern prose and his texts belong to the golden fund of 19th century French literature. We believe that the radio version of Tartarin's Alpine adventures will delight our listeners not only with its inventive humour and brisk narration, but also with Pavel Soukup's interpretive mastery.
