A Novel in Four Movements
A novel about unrequited love, set in England during the Great Depression in the 1930s. The central hero is a young man named Bob, who suffers from the falling sickness (an old name for epilepsy). Jiří Zygma has woven autobiographical elements into his fate, referencing his own youth.
An interesting fact about the novel's creation is that it was written between 1997 and 1998 on an Olivetti electric typewriter, which is now more of a curiosity. It was written in four columns without punctuation, through which the author references the title, which is meant to express the seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, as well as the tempo of the entire bar, which is the basis of almost all music and the rhythm of life.
