A cog in the machine

WHEN THE MURDEROUS MECHANISM COMPLETES ITS WORK, AN ANCIENT PROPHECY WILL BE FULFILLED…

Mojmír Mráz of Žezlice, an investigator for the Moravian Provincial Court, arrives in Brno with his young assistant Kristián to enjoy a few quiet days. A welcome diversion comes in the form of an invitation from an eccentric collector to a celebration where a rare relic is to be unveiled – the lost pages of Provost Mikuláš's Missal.

However, a murder occurs during the festivities, and it seems this death perfectly fulfils a prophecy hidden in verse on an ancient parchment. And if that is the case, it won't end with just one murder – the poem speaks of more to come, but the clues are unclear.

Is this truly an ancient ritual of the Order of the Dragon that has found its executioner, or is the killer pursuing a different goal? Mojmír will have to unravel the threads of the mystery before all the cogs of the murderous mechanism fall into place…
