22 swimming pools

Audiobook 22 Pools, written by Caroline Wahl, translated by Viktorie Hanišová. Read by Kristýna Skružná, directed by Miloš Vrána. A RAW AND TENDER NOVEL ABOUT MORE THAN JUST UNCONDITIONAL SISTERLY LOVE University student Tilda lives with her ten-year-old sister Ida and their alcoholic mother in a dreary, grey house in a small town she hates, a place all her classmates and friends have already left. While studying, she works as a cashier in a supermarket, looking after her little sister and sometimes her mother too. Her daily routine is broken only by visits to the local swimming pool, where Tilda regularly swims her 22 “pools”. But then she receives an offer to do a PhD in Berlin. The prospect of moving to the big city is tempting, but Tilda hesitates: can she leave Ida alone with their unpredictable, addicted mother? On top of that, Viktor quietly re-enters her life, perhaps bringing more than just memories of the past… CAROLINE WAHL Caroline Wahl (born 1995) studied German studies in Tübingen and German literature in Berlin.
