Green tea Tea Garden - Japan Gabalong

Where and how is Japan Gabalong grown?

As the name of this tea suggests, it is a Japanese tea originating from the Yabukita cultivar growing primarily in Shizuoka Prefecture. This is characterized primarily by cooler climatic conditions, which allow the development of a truly unique flavor profile of this tea. But that's not all. After harvesting, the tea leaves are exposed to liquid nitrogen for several hours, after which they rest for some time and are only then subjected to classic steaming.

What kind of taste should you expect from Japan Gabalong?

The specific processing method is of course also reflected in the taste properties of Gabalong tea. Although the leaves are a deep green colour, the infusion is a nice golden colour, the taste is sweet, very delicate and with a subtle hint of umami . The aroma mixes flowers and herbs, and the tea feels very balanced and has a pleasant, round finish. So if you feel like trying something unconventional, we can only recommend Japan Gabalong Shizuoka Yabukita.

Attractions

The name Gabalong itself is related to fermentation using nitrogen, during which the GABA content is increased. Compared to classic sencha tea, this content is up to ten times higher.

Ingredients

Japanese green tea.

Preparation

The preparation of Gabalong tea is not fundamentally different from the preparation of other green teas. We recommend using 1 teaspoon for every 200 ml of water. Never pour boiling water over tea, which could destroy its unique flavor properties. Water with a temperature between 75 and 80 °C is much more suitable, in which the character of the tea will stand out best. The steeping time should be between 2 and 3 minutes, depending on how intense the flavor of your green tea is.
