Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is an indirect sequel to the Luigi’s Mansion game for Nintendo GameCube. It is an action game, in which Mario’s brother, Luigi, fights against ghosts - with a great deal of humour. The whole game could be characterised as Ghostbusters according to Big-N.

Levels
Navigate Luigi through several haunted mansions, which are now occupied by ghosts. They are not hurting anyone, but they hide various secrets and will not be of much help to Luigi’s cause.
To catch the ghosts, Luigi has got the special Poltergeist 5000 vacuum cleaner and also a special Nintendo DS, which provides him with a map and contact with Professor E. Gadd, who gradually teleports Luigi to the individual haunted mansions.
First of all, he has to detect the ghosts. Some are hiding in various objects or under the carpet, the others need to be dazzled by his flashlight. Some can be caught only after you have finished a little puzzle.

Controls
This game is solely singleplayer and uses almost all controls of the 3DS. Luigi is navigated by the analogue Circle Pad and the camera moves automatically. Various actions are triggered by the action buttons, nevertheless, sometimes the built-in motion sensors are used.
You will use them mainly for looking around, looking through keyholes or aiming the suction tube of the vacuum cleaner. The touchscreen displays particular mission objectives, stats and a map of the house.

Audio and Visuals
The game is fully 3D, so it is completely like a game for the regular consoles. The stereoscopic 3D effect is also very well made and does not fall apart even when using the motion sensors.
What is even more remarkable than the amazing graphics is the soundtrack. Together with the light effects, it makes for a great atmosphere for exploring the houses, action scenes but also for the humorous calls with Professor E. Gadd.
