The Hom-Bot combines three modes of movement for the most successful cleaning. The first mode is Spiral, when the vacuum moves along a broad spiral path. The purpose of this mode is for spot cleaning and the maximum diameter of the outer ring reaches up to 1.5m. Another mode is Zig-Zag, when the Hom-Bot moves back and forth until it bumps into an obstacle. This mode is suitable for larger areas where there is a minimum amount of obstacles and it is the most common, automatic mode of choice. The last mode is Cell by Cell, which is a more advanced navigation and uses the Zig Zag system in particular areas. It is a great choice for more complex surfaces with obstacles. Additionally, the robot offers 4 more modes, including My Space, Turbo, Smart Turbo and Repeat.
The vacuum excels with its elaborate system that intelligently overcomes obstacles. It is able to release itself from getting stuck, for example, on the edge of the carpet or when rolling over cables. The Hom-Bot can't even be stopped by round obstacles, as the automatic vacuuming system and its detectors guides it around obstacles without stopping. The vacuum also seamlessly recognises window frames and glass doors that could make it once again get stuck. Conversely, when stuck in a narrow space, the Hom-Bot performs the necessary moves to get out after a certain period of time.
