It supports the ECC Registered technology. The ECC technology performs transparent real-time checks of the integrity of data stored in the memory.  It can find and fix an error in one bit and detect it in two bits. Some memory controllers are also able to repair large-scale errors when cooperating with ECC memory. Most server boards require memory with ECC support.

Registered memories are equipped with a custom controller that controls access to individual memory modules, making it easier for the memory controller to work on the board or processor. The memory behaves externally as a single module - the register chip - which takes care of writing and reading and from individual memory cells and transfers the results of these operations to the controller. This increases the efficiency of memory access and processing speed even when multiple memory modules are used at the same time. Some server boards require registered memory.
