Intel is a world-renowned company that needs no introduction. For many years, they have been among the largest manufacturers of processors and chipsets in the world. Right now, they put the best desktop processors on the market and they have once again scaled down the performance of it. Essentially, this is a server-based version designed for gaming.The Intel Core i9-7980XE processor is designed for motherboards equipped with the LGA 2066 socket and the upgraded Intel X299 chipset.

What does DELID mean?

This is a relatively sophisticated hit on the CPU itself. Intel is using a fairly common heat conductive paste between the chip and the heat transfer. Local overheating of the processor during overclocking is a matter of seconds. The result is a noticeable drop in temperature during the maximum load.

Skylake-X - Technology at the Edge

The Intel Core i9-7980XE processor offers 18 physical cores and is the most powerful model in the new, modern X Series. It uses a 14nm manufacturing process using the latest state-of-the-art technology. Each kernel runs at a 2.6GHz basic frequency with Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 4.4GHz. As with the previous generation, the memory controller is integrated into the chip directly. It is a four-channel DDR4 memory controller that can re-operate at a frequency of up to 2666MHz. The processor also has a cache of 24.75MB.

Turbo Boost Max 3.0

Since these are primarily desktop processors, Intel comes with advanced technology that pulls the most from every processor. Turbo Boost Max 3.0 is able to test each kernel individually and choose the best. At the upper power limit, the difference may be 15% and it would not be worth using the damage. This selected kernel will then run at the maximum frequency at all times, and the system will use it preferentially.
