The processor features 6 physical cores and is part of the series of modern Broadwell-E. It uses the 14nm manufacturing process utilizing the most advanced technology available. Each core runs at the basic frequency of 3.6GHz with Turbo mode and automatic overclocking up to 3.8GHz. Like the previous generation, this processor has also the memory controller integrated directly into the chip. The chip is a four-channel memory controller DDR4 that can newly operate at the frequency up to 2400MHz. The processor also has a buffer capacity of about 15MB.

Max Turbo Boost 3.0 is able to individually test each core and choose the best. The upper limit of the performance difference may be even 15% and it would be a shame not to use it. The selected core will then run continuously at maximum frequency and the system will prioritise it.
