Intel launches the 7th generation of its "i" processors, this time codenamed Kaby Lake. Basically, it is a very similar architecture to the previous successful Skylake series. However, Intel has worked on various optimizations and the result is a processor that delivers real-world performance while maintaining minimal energy performance.
The Kaby Lake architecture is once again based on a 14nm production process. Starting with demanding manufacturing, Intel is doing its utmost best to offer this processor at an excellent price / performance ratio. As with its predecessors, there are AES-NI instructions that provide much better hardware support for encrypted discs where there is a noticeable reduction in latency. Of course, support for the usual VT-d and VT-x virtualization features include EPT. The quad core Intel Core i5-7500T works reliably up to a high 3.3GHz frequency.
Data access is greatly facilitated by a fast 6MB L3 cache that gives kernels enough time to instantly respond to all applications. This processor with its features will surely serve as a reliable foundation for your computer set.
Thanks to Intel's focus on optimizing existing technology, the new Kaby Lake processors also work on the already-sold baseboards with 1151 slots. All that is required is to verify compatibility with the motherboard manufacturer and perform a relatively simple update of the UEFI environment.
