Intel is launching the 7th generation of its "i" processors this time codenamed Kaby Lake. Basically, it is a very similar architecture to the previous successful Skylake series. Intel, however, has worked on various optimisations and the result is a processor that delivers real performance growth while maintaining minimal energy consumption.
The Kaby Lake architecture is once again based on a 14nm production process. Beginning with demanding manufacturing, Intel is doing its utmost to deliver stunning excellence, offering this processor with an excellent price / performance ratio. As with the predecessors, there are AES-NI instructions that provide much better hardware support when working with encrypted drives, with a noticeable reduction in latency. Of course, support for the usual virtualisation features VT-d and VT-x including EPT. The four-core Intel Core i5-7400T quad-core works reliably at a high frequency of 3.0 GHz.

Thanks to Intel's focus on optimising existing technology, the new Kaby Lake processors also work on already-sold motherboards with 1151 slots. It is only necessary to verify compatibility with the motherboard manufacturer and make a relatively simple update of the UEFI environment.
