A simple device focused on using existing cable television (CATV) infrastructure for Internet access or broadband data transmission. Take advantage of your existing coaxial distributions for a fast Ethernet connection across the premises - both home and business, such as offices, hotels, factories and many more. A single coaxial line is sufficient for the simultaneous transmission of TV (satellite and cable) and a data signal. The obvious advantages are the money you will save by not having to install new cabling, the large coverage (700-1500m), the high speeds (up to 600Mbps, 300Mbps MAC layer) and last, but not least, the reliability of cables in the form of their resistance to interference.
In this coaxial network a network controller (Master), managed via a web interface, and slave units, without their own private IP addresses, are required. The Master unit is connected to a switch or router which makes data available to all the Slave units. One Master serves up to 256 slave units (128 on one coaxial line) in a star or tree network structure. The master provides Ethernet data over coaxial distribution so no unauthorised users can access the network.
