System operation
Wireless connection of Homematic IP devices to the HmIP-HAP Central Unit offers convenient setup and control of a complex smart home system using an intuitive app (for Android and iOS in CZ) designed for smartphones. The mobile app enables instant response to messages and alerts from your smart home system and connects all Homematic IP devices via a free, unlimited cloud, allowing you to set up and control your system from anywhere in the world, transfer important information and update software and firmware, and pass configuration and operational commands from the Homematic IP app to individual smart home devices.
Smart alarm functions of the magnetic window and door sensor
Once the magnets are delayed, the sensor is activated, the system immediately performs the preconfigured operation and informs you of the event via push notifications via the Homematic IP mobile app on your smartphone. In addition, your home or office can be even safer if your security solution includes the HmIP-ASIR-2 indoor siren or the HmIP-ASIR-O outdoor siren. In this case, if the protection of the guarded area is breached, a loud alarm sound is automatically triggered.

Fresh air without wasting energy, this is the combination of the HmIP-SWDM wireless magnetic sensor with the HmIP-eTRV Homematic IP radiator thermostatic heads. If a window or door is opened for ventilation, the room temperature is automatically lowered. The degree of temperature reduction can even be defined by the user in the Homematic IP mobile app. When the window or door is closed, the heating is activated again until the room temperature is back to the pre-configured level. In this efficient way, you can control the room temperature and the heating or air conditioning process according to your individual needs, resulting in immediate savings and a reduction of up to 30% in your energy costs.
Support autonomous operation of heating control without central unit
In stand-alone heating control mode without the HmIP-HAP central unit, one HmIP-SWDM wireless magnetic window and door sensor can be combined with up to eight Basic HmIP-eTRV-B wireless thermostatic heads and one Basic HmIP-WTH-B wireless wall thermostat.
Protection in case of sabotage
If an intruder gets to the sensor, the tamper contact reliably detects the tampering and triggers an alarm. Inter-device communication ensures that the alarm is triggered even without an internet connection. If your smart home security solution includes a Homematic IP siren (outdoor or indoor), the siren will remain in alarm mode in the event of sabotage or destruction of the HmIP-HAP Central Unit.
