Primalex Plasterboard putty 5 kg

Primalex Powdered Sealant is a fast-setting internal levelling matrix based on gypsum. The use of added cellulose microfibres ensures a reinforcing effect, improves viscosity, prevents shrinkage and crack formation. It dries the entire mixture faster, reduces internal stresses and allows a thick layer to be applied in one operation. Primalex Powdered Sealant is slowly poured into clean water at a ratio of 0.6 l of water per 1 kg of powdered sealant and allowed to soak for about 3 minutes. The mixture is then mixed to a paste-like consistency without lumps or clumps.

Preparation of the substrate

Substrates intended for cementing must be generally solid, dry, clean, free of impurities, waxes, grease and other repellent particles. Sealing is recommended to be carried out only after completion and necessary drying of the wet processes in the building, without subsequent exposure of the substrates and structures to sudden temperature and humidity changes (after closing the building against the weather). All loose layers, oil coatings, varnishes and enamels are removed from already painted surfaces. Plasterboard (construction) - the cladding boards must be correctly fixed (screwed), assembled to a tight fit, in the case of partitions the construction must be clad on both sides. New mineral substrates - (lime, lime-cement, etc. remedial plaster) - must be sufficiently hardened and dry, mature min. 4 weeks. Older solid mineral substrates - For large-scale repairs, wash off or preferably completely remove original, chalking paint or otherwise contaminated surfaces. When repairing local cracks, it is necessary to perfectly remove any peeling old paint in their vicinity. After wet cleaning, let the surfaces dry sufficiently before further treatment. More extensive defects (e.g. falling off of the plaster) should be carried out in the classic form of masonry repair (with a suitable mineral-based material), larger cracks should be repaired with a suitable acrylic putty. Contaminated substrates - (infected e.g. moulds, algae, etc. otherwise contaminated) should first be treated with a special product according to the form of contamination, e.g. Primalex Fungicidal Primer or Primalex Facade Cleaner (according to the instructions for the respective product) or Primalex Fungicidal Primer. with another suitable disinfectant. After the wet process, allow the surfaces to dry sufficiently before further treatment with the subsequent application of sealant.

Sealant preparation and application

Primalex Powdered Sealant is slowly poured into clean water at a ratio of 0.6 l of water per 1 kg of powdered sealant and allowed to soak for about 3 minutes. The mixture is then mixed to a paste-like consistency without lumps or clumps. On properly prepared substrates, it is applied with a stainless steel trowel in the usual way. The approximate processing time is approximately 20 - 30 minutes depending on the ambient temperature. In case of large irregularities, the whole process can be repeated several times. After perfect drying, the surface is sanded with a sanding grid or sandpaper (150-180). All Primalex interior coatings suitable for plasterboard or gypsum plaster are then suitable for the final surface treatment. When applying them, always follow the application instructions for each product. Surfaces (all within reach) that are not to be contaminated are recommended to be completely covered before work begins. Contaminated areas, tools and work equipment must be washed before the sealant dries.

Storage:
Store at 5 °C to 35 °C. It must not freeze. When stored in the prescribed manner in a sealed container, the product retains its useful properties at least until the date indicated on the packaging (i.e. 36 months).

Drying time:
Primalex sealant is final adjustable after 30 minutes under standard climatic conditions (T = 20 °C, real humidity 50%). Subsequently, the final coating can also be applied. Lowering the temperature or increasing the humidity can increase drying times.
Safety Alert:
Do not eat, drink or smoke when working with Primalex Powder Sealant. It is advisable to protect your eyes with goggles with side shields and ensure ventilation of the room. Rinse mouth with water if swallowed. If the eyes are affected, flush them with a stream of water. Seek medical attention if you have persistent problems.
