How to install the pond in 6 steps:
Step 1: Preparing the site

Place the plastic pond in the chosen location and then use a spade to mark the outline of the pond. It is important that the hole is 10–15cm wider and deeper than the shape of the pond.
Step 2: Digging the pond pit
Start by digging out the pond pit, including the zones intended for planting. Make sure the pond rests on a solid layer of earth and that there are no voids in it. This is particularly important to prevent the pond from sinking later on.
Step 3: Determine the pond depth
The outer edge of the pit must be at the same height at all points. For smaller ponds, this can be checked very easily with a measuring stick and a spirit level. The different pond depths can be measured and adjusted in this step.
Step 4: Setting the pond in place
Apply a layer of sand approximately 10cm thick to all horizontal surfaces. This simplifies the levelling of the pond on the one hand, and on the other, guarantees an optimal fit when setting it in place. Now place the pond into the prepared hole and align it using a spirit level.

Step 5: Filling the gaps

To prevent the pond from floating, first fill it halfway with water. Add sand and water to the sides. You need to continuously check that the pond is level. Repeat this process until all cavities are filled with sand.
Step 6: Filling with water
Once the pond is fully settled with sand and water (bedded in the resulting slurry), fill it completely with water. Place aquatic plants in planting baskets in the designated plant zones. You can now install a pump for water features and water movement, or to create a stream.
