The PENTAX HD DA 15mm F/4 ED AL LIMITED is a perfect lens falling into the category of so-called "fish-eyes" which are extremely wide-angle lenses with intentional distortions of the perspective, which is suitable for many occasions both for amateur and professional photographers.
The new HD version can let more light in without degradation. The front part of the lens is coated with the SP layer (Super Protect), which is a special fluorine compound, which is, using a vapour deposition process, applied to the front lens element. The SP coating repels effectively dust, water and oil, but also allows easy cleaning of fingerprints and cosmetic creams. The lens also contains a glass element with extra-low dispersion (ED). The lens features autofocus. After the subject is focused with the AF autofocus system, a unique Quick-Shift Focus system lets the photographer switch instantly to the manual-focus operation to fine-tune the focus.
