Fast and reliable pregnancy test
GS Mamatest Comfort can be performed by you. It detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which appears in the urine at a very early stage of pregnancy. Pregnancy is reliably detected already on the first day of missing regular menstruation. You can take the test at any time of the day. However, the most suitable is the first morning urine, which contains - if you are pregnant - the most pregnancy hormone. You will appreciate its easy and hygienic use in the urine stream. The test can also be performed by dipping the absorbent end of the strip into a container of urine.
Benefits of a pregnancy test
- High sensitivity 10 mIU/ml
- You can test at any time of the day
- Security in as little as 3 minutes
- Comfortable to use directly into the urine stream
How does GS Mamatest Comfort work?
Any sample of your urine can be used to detect pregnancy, but the first urine of the morning is the most suitable as it contains the highest concentration of hCG. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone produced by the placenta and secreted into the urine shortly after fertilisation. The pregnancy test contains antibodies that specifically react with this hormone. After inserting the test stick into the urine stream or into the urine container, the absorbed urine rises along the membrane. Once the urine containing hCG reaches the test area in the membrane, a coloured stripe appears in the membrane. The absence of this strip indicates a negative result. If the test is performed properly, a coloured bar appears in the control area (used to check the correctness of the test).
Performing the test
- Open the bag by tearing along the notch and remove the test stick.
- Grasp the round end of the test stick with one hand. With the other hand, remove the cover from the absorption section at the opposite end.
- Hold the test stick so that the absorbent part of the test stick points downwards. Start urinating. Insert the absorbent part into the urine stream for at least 10 seconds. Do not urinate outside the marked area. (See picture. ) You can also catch urine in a clean cover or a clean, dry container and dip half of the absorbent pad into the urine for at least 3 seconds.
- Put the cover on and wait for the coloured stripes to appear. You can observe a positive result within 1 minute, but to confirm a negative result you need to wait 3 minutes until the reaction is complete. Do not read the test result after 5 minutes.
Subtraction of results
- Negative result (you are not pregnant): only one coloured stripe appeared, in the control area (C). There is no colour band in the test area (T). This means that the pregnancy was not confirmed by the test.
- Positive result (you are pregnant): two distinct coloured stripes appeared in the control (C) and test (T) areas. It means you're pregnant. The intensity of the coloration of the test strip in the test area depends on the concentration of hCG, which changes during pregnancy.
- Valid result: if the test was not performed correctly, no coloured stripe appeared or only a stripe appeared in the test area (T) but not in the control area (C). Repeat the test with a new set. If the test result is repeatedly invalid, please contact the manufacturer or dealer. Be sure to include the batch number.
Restrictions
- As with any other diagnostic procedure, pregnancy should be confirmed by a physician who will perform the necessary clinical and laboratory examinations.
- A too dilute urine sample may not contain hCG in a concentration sufficient to give a positive result. If you still think you are pregnant, take a new urine sample and test again after 48 hours at the earliest.
- At a very early stage of pregnancy, you may get a false negative test result because the concentration of hCG in the urine sample is too low. In this case, take a new urine sample and do the test again after 48 hours at the earliest.
- In addition to pregnancy, certain diseases can also cause an increase in hCG levels. Unless your doctor has ruled out these conditions, the presence of hCG in a urine sample (a positive test result) cannot be considered confirmation of pregnancy.
- With the help of a pregnancy test, it is not possible to distinguish an ectopic pregnancy from a pregnancy with a normal course. A distorted test result can also be caused by spontaneous abortion.
- Infertility treatments based on the administration of hCG can also bias the test result. In this case, consult your doctor for the result.
- This test is used for qualitative analysis. It is not intended for the quantitative determination of hCG concentration.
- The product is suitable for human urine testing only.
- A contaminated urine sample or the presence of interfering substances can lead to incorrect results.
- Contamination of the product or improper handling can also cause incorrect results.
