The Garmin Fenix series is an iconic range of smartwatches known for their high durability, long battery life, and versatile sports and outdoor use. The 43mm size is suitable for small to medium wrists. The Garmin Fenix 8 is fitted with a durable, silver steel bezel and a high-luminosity AMOLED display with bright colours and high resolution. The display can be set to always-on mode or to a sleep mode that extends battery life. In sleep mode, the display wakes up with gestures when you raise and turn your wrist with the Garmin watch towards your face. During sports activities, you can independently set whether the display should turn off or remain permanently visible. The display is protected by mineral glass hardened with Corning® Gorilla® Glass technology. One of the main innovations of the Fenix 8 model is the colour touchscreen, which has grown to 1.3” in diameter compared to the previous model. The Garmin watch's memory has pre-loaded detailed topographic maps of Europe, with the option to download detailed maps of other continents. The watch can provide detailed navigation over the map, including turn-by-turn navigation instructions while on a route. You can plan routes directly on the watch, in the Garmin Connect mobile app, or using the popular Czech app Mapy.cz. Precise positioning is provided by a satellite receiver with support for GPS/GLONASS/GALILEO satellite systems and a multi-channel Multiband GPS receiver. SatIQ technology ensures optimal satellite reception settings, automatically switching between multiple satellite signal reception modes to optimise accuracy and save power. A very practical tool on the watch is the built-in LED torch with red and white light and adjustable brightness.

This primarily includes heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen saturation, breathing rate, daily step count, floors climbed and minutes of intense activity. From these measured metrics, the watch derives other functions and values, such as Body Battery, Stress Score, Heart Rate Variability Status, Acclimatisation Status to temperature and altitude, and more. The group of health monitoring functions also includes features for measuring sleep duration and quality. In addition to the duration and Sleep Score value, the Garmin Fenix 8 watch also measures individual sleep stages, short naps, and provides recommendations for achieving better quality sleep and recovery.
Smart features to make your daily life easier
The Garmin Fenix 8 watch can be connected to smartphones with both Android and iOS operating systems. On both platforms, the watch's built-in microphone and speaker offer the ability to make Bluetooth calls directly from your wrist (the watch does not have a built-in SIM card and requires a connected compatible smartphone nearby for the calling function). On both platforms, you can of course view notifications and incoming calls on the watch display. If you own an Android phone, you can also reply to messages directly from the watch display. With the Garmin Fenix 8 watch, you can also record short voice memos or use voice assistant services.
The Garmin Fenix 8 smartwatch supports Garmin Pay
Popular features include contactless Garmin Pay, which lets you add a digital copy of your regular payment card to your Fenix 8 watch (if your card supports the feature) and then pay with the watch in a similar way to using a payment card.
